I am filing this bug report as suggested by in this PsychoPy discourse thread. Be aware that if a font is in the local user folder but is also present in one of the system-level folders, then it might appear to work, but only because TextBox2 is able to use the duplicate system-level font. It is difficult to provide a reproducible example, as it depends upon what fonts are on the particular system being tested. More likely, the user won't be aware that fonts can be stored in different places and simply be puzzled why TextBox2 displays some fonts but not others. The only option at present is to move the font to one of the System-level font folders, but the user might not have permissions to do that, or might consciously want to keep files restricted to their user folder. TextBox2, however, can not find local user fonts stored in ~/Library/Fonts and seems to fall back on using Verdana when that happens. TextStim can use fonts from all three locations.

I truncated some of the crashreporter report, but can provide more verbose versions.įonts on a Mac can be installed in the following folders: The first example is from Spyder, and the second one is from PsychoPy Coder. The common thread seems to be a graphic callback function with one of the audio libraries (which is interesting, because I'm not doing anything with audio). Sometimes it crashes 5 minutes into an experiment, at other times it crashes 10 minutes into an experiment.īelow are the faulthandler outputs of several crashes, followed by several crashreporter outputs. I can have 5 crashes in a row that occur several seconds after the camera setup screen has occured on the display PC. I'm using MacOS Mojave on a 2019(?) iMac.

I'm using the latest Eyelink Developer's kit, and the software on the recording/host computer is up-to-date. For the record, I've tried 3 different installations: the latest 2022 Psychopy Coder, Spyder with python 3.8, and Spyder with Python 3.9. I'm getting semi-random segfault using Psychopy.
